Well, the summer is almost upon us. The journalistic credibility-destroying Transfer Season has begun, ripe with all of the bogus rumors that kill productivity around the world. A miserable season has almost come to an end and the reign of Louis I has begun. Of course all that means is that Louis van Gaal has been named the MUFC Manager and we are now linked with every Dutch player that you've ever heard of. Cynicism aside, I am excited to see what the summer brings and we have much to look forward to.
The UEFA Champions League Final is coming up on Saturday and should be a very entertaining match. I'm torn between supporting former MUFC great Cristiano Ronaldo hoist another Big Cup with Real, an organization I despise, and seeing the relatively poor Atletico take the honors. Frankly, that's how I like to go into a big game that doesn't feature United - neutral.
The World Cup begins in June and I don't think this excitement has hit me just yet. There will be lots of football of course, but it also means I am 4 years older and these WC Finals seem to be coming faster and faster. Of course I support the USMNT, but don't expect they will go far. I'm completely indifferent to the England team. Although it features a number of MUFC players, there are enough Gerrards, Sterlings, and Wilsheres to turn me off. The most entertaining aspect is the insane amount of underachieving pessimism surrounding the England team. It's hard to imagine they will go any further than the US, but it is interesting to see how many arm tattoos white folks can get.
Final message to UEFA, World Cup, and the Silly Season: Keep me entertained while Manchester United get linked to every player that scores a goal.
